To my Momba...

Mom Happy Mother's Day! I never realized how much my mom did for me, or cared for me until I left home. I never fully realized how selfless she was, until she stayed up with my fussy new born so I could get more sleep and yet she would still manage to get up at every feeding with me and have a hot breakfast in the morning. (Brian was sad to see her go:D) I never realized how much my past decisions must have broken her heart, or how she worries even though I am grown and away from home. I grasped some of these things before I myself was a mom, but for some of them I really had to be a mom first before I could understand them. Because being a Mom is the most selfless thing that you do, and my mom is the best at it! I still need lots of practice at being selfless and I am sure I could take a page out of my moms book. A lot of things are more clear since I became a mother myself, like I get how your heart aches when your little one is gone for an overnighter.. or maybe that is just me. But I just wanted everyone to know how wonderful my mom is! There are too many things to mention, but lots of things I want to say and don't really know how to say them. But something important is that I want her to know that what I know about motherhood I learned from her, and from watching her with my sisters and myself as they waded into the murky waters that being a mom contains. There are no booklets and no instructions, but through example we can learn and I learned through hers and it has earned me some compliments that are really to her and her example. I am by no means a perfect mom, I am a yeller and I have a temper, but I think that is what we are here for is to learn. So as I continue on my journey through motherhood I am so thankful to a loving Heavenly Father for my Mom and her shining example, but also to my sisters Amy Ann and Emily, they have shown me how to grow, buoyed me up when I was down and laughed when I needed that laugh. I love you all so very much and wish that Mom Ann and Emily were closer:D Somewhere I read a quote that said to be a mother is to have your heart walk outside of your body for the rest of your life, And I fully believe that is true. Thanks mom for all you do, you are amazing and I can't wait to see you!
